A Great Result

What a difference that occurs when something you think is bad is actually good! After losing my job, I experienced quick physical responses. I feel like I am sleeping better. It is not perfect, but it is better. The inner peace has continued. Perhaps there is some grief of no longer working and getting pay checks, but the stress I did not know I had I realized I had I actually was stressed, but that is gone. I don’t feel rushed anymore. For example, I got my school paper done earlier and was proud about that. I am looking forward to getting back to writing. All in all, what I mean is this. Allow God to work things out, even when His solution (on the surface) appears to be not a great conclusion.

When I allowed myself to trust God, that also meant I will accept whatever solution He decides is best. And how I know I mean I trust God is the inner peace He gifts me. Who would smile while being told they are fired (or the more softer version that was said to me yet means the same thing: “we have to let you go?” Who but God could set me up like that, and have me wondering what is going on here, as I walk to my car still smiling?

I am so grateful for my response. I could have gone down the rabbit hole to depression after hearing the news, wondering what am I going to do financially, should I get another job, and who would hire me at my age, and on and on. I am not saying I have questions about finances, but at the same time I am not presently worrying about it. I may not know what to do next, but my eyes are on you God.

That’s what was said in the Old Testament when King Jehosophat in 2 Chronicles 20 was faced with what to do when he got word that three groups of people were on their way to kill him and his people. He said to God in a prayer the following:

“Our God, will you not judge them? For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.” 2 Chronicles 20:12b (NIV)

And my eyes are on God, looking forward to what He will do next. I am looking forward to that. I trust that no one and nothing will take me out of the palm of His hand, which means He will provide what I need. And for me, that is a great result.
